As the president of the Priests Quorum (Melchizedek Priesthood Leadership Handbook, Section 4, pp. 18-20), the Bishop's involvement and leadership in quorum
activities is a significant factor in whether Venturing becomes a significant force in the quorum and whether the quorum makes a difference in the actual lives of its members. The importance that the Bishop
places on implementing a good, well rounded Venturer program will largely determine the importance the young men place on their own commitment and involvement. Bishops should not only preside at and
regularly attend weekly Sunday Priests Quorum meetings, but should also attend and be involved in quorum/crew activities. Although one of his assistants will be designated as the Crew President, the Bishop
should:

Make sure that each Priest knows the importance the Bishop places on his activity, not only in Sunday quorum meetings, but also
in his quorum Venturer activity program. Make sure that each priest is encouraged to arrange his work and activity schedule to give high priority to attending Venturing activities
with his quorum.

See that adult quorum/Venturer leadership is fully staffed with exemplary Priesthood holders. The minimum for Venturing is:
Crew Advisor, Assistant Advisor, and Crew Committee Chairman. See that these men are fully trained in Aaronic Priesthood and Venturing leadership. The ideal Quorum/Crew adult
leadership exists when the Bishop, as President of the Priest's Quorum, appoints himself to serve as the Crew Committee Chairman.

See that youth leaders in the quorum/crew are fully trained in their Aaronic Priesthood and Venturing duties.

Have direct personal contact regularly with each member of the Priests Quorum and conduct regular personal priesthood interviews
with each of his assistants who, with him, constitute the quorum presidency, and provide crew leadership over Venturing activities. The Bishop's close personal contact will
strengthen the priesthood purposes behind activities and encourage the youth to emulate his leadership.
